Samuel J. Ford awarded Louisiana Appleseed’s “Good Apple” Award
“Good Apple” Award goes to Attorney Samuel J. Ford for his Pro bono efforts
This past Thursday, Attorney Samuel J. Ford was honored at the Louisiana Appleseed’s Good Apple Gala 2018. This event took place at the NOPSI Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. Samuel was honored for his pro bono work alongside five other outstanding pro bono honorees. Mr. Ford is an excellent consumer attorney, who handles matters related to debt collection harassment and debt settlement.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Starting in 1993, the parent organization is called National Appleseed and includes a large network of 17 public interest law centers. In 1997, Louisiana Appleseed was started and has been thriving ever since. Louisiana Appleseed’s mission is “[to advance] social justice with projects that increase access to education, opportunity and justice”. The types of matters that the Louisiana Appleseed contributes to include: preservation of home ownership, feeding young children, encouraging lawyers to offer more pro bono, prevent youth violence, and grow inner city schools.
ABOUT THE GALA:
The Good Apple Gala exists to honor the volunteers who are dedicated to furthering the organization’s cause through service.
Over 200 volunteers have donated pro bono time. The Louisiana Appleseed’s efforts have helped strengthen some of the most vulnerable areas of our region by providing research, advocates, and time-withstanding solutions.
